HARDWARE RETAILING | November 2017 18 NRHA News Making the Rounds at Markets N RHA connects and engages with retailers from wholesale affiliations and co-ops across the industry, which means NRHA staffers are easy to spot at many seasonal markets. This summer and fall, association staff was busy meeting independent retailers at industry events across North America. Check out where we made stops this season, look for us at your next wholesaler event and go to page 66 for upcoming industry events. NRHA staffer Kate Klein was anything but blue at the Ace Hardware Fall 2017 Convention & Exhibits in Chicago, where she met with retailers, checked out new products and attended presentations, including the address about Amazon by Ace CEO John Venhuizen. At the Blish-Mize Fall Buying Market in Overland Park, Kansas, the distributor debuted a new stage to showcase the latest products. NRHA was there to see it firsthand and spoke to retailers about the growing opportunities the distributor is offering. The Do it Best Fall Market happened right around the corner from NRHA headquarters in downtown Indianapolis. NRHA staffers Melanie Moul and Chad Husted attended Friday's educational sessions and checked out the market floor on Saturday morning. NRHA staffer Marci Taschler went to the Home Hardware Fall Dealer Market at the co-op's headquarters in St. Jacobs, Ontario. Taschler (middle) met with Krista Young (left) and Heather McKinnon (right) from Valleyview Home Hardware at the retailer dinner. The Orgill Fall Dealer Market took place in Boston, and NRHA was on the show floor. Staffers Tom Marcum and Marci Taschler met with retailers to learn more about their businesses and how NRHA could be of assistance to help them reach their goals. The True Value Fall Reunion took place this year in Chicago, and NRHA staffer Renee Changnon met retailers who look forward to new opportunities with True Value. She also made time for friends of the fluffier variety on the show floor.
