HARDWARE RETAILING | April 2017 14 NRHA News N RHA is awarding two scholarships to attend the fall 2017 class of the NRHA Retail Management Certification Program (RMCP) in the name of one of the program's greatest supporters—former Aubuchon Hardware CEO Marcus Moran Jr. The Marcus Moran Jr. RMCP Scholarship program includes two half-tuition scholarships valued at $6,250 each. The scholarships will be awarded annually to two retailers who embody the values exemplified by Moran. Such characteristics include a pioneering entrepreneurial spirit, a dedication to growing their business, a commitment to the welfare of their employees and a willingness to work together with others in the industry to advance the cause of the independent retailer. "Marcus has been such a huge supporter of the program since its inception in 2013," says NRHA president and CEO Bill Lee. "Without the unflagging leadership and support of Marcus and the Aubuchon Hardware family, the NRHA Retail Management Certification Program would not exist today. It's only fitting that we honor Marcus for all of his contributions to this program."
