Checkouts COMMUNITY RELATIONS Helping a Business, Serving the Town P arry's in Hamilton, New York, calls itself "a modern-day general store." Thanks to a partnership with a local clothing resale store, customers can even buy clothing there. Worn Again Clothing Store is run by the local Baptist church and for the past few years has been renting space at Parry's. "Their old building was being sold, and they needed a new place to sell their clothes," says Parry's manager Andrew Hicks. "We had a little extra space, so we worked out a deal." Now, the clothing store is staffed by volunteers three days a week. During that time, customers can make purchases or drop off donations. While the store pays Parry's rent for the space, the bigger advantages, Hicks says, are being able to help out the local community and seeing an increase in customers visiting the store. "We see more people coming in when the resale store is open," Hicks says. "And because the clothing is in the back of the store, customers have to walk through the store and can shop on their way back or on their way toward the front. It's a win for everyone." The Worn Again Clothing Store, a local clothing resale store, leases about 200 square feet of space from Parry's. BOOTH 4908 SOMETHING IS COMING...
